Fishing

Fishing is available near-by. Cahersiveen is a world renowed for both salt and fresh-water fishing. Cahersiveen has recently hosted the European Federation of sea-anglers competition. Fishing is also available in Waterville which is only 15km from cahersiveen. Beaches

Several blue-flag beaches are within ten minutes drive of Strand's-End House. Kells bay is just a short drive where you will find a sheltered beach suitable for swimming. The white strand is located just ouside Cahersiveen and is also a blue flag beach.



Festivals

During the summer there are many festivals of interest in Cahersiveen and the surrounding areas. The Cahersiveen Celtic music festival is an annual event held on the August bank holiday weekend which attracts visitors from all over the world. The Cahersiveen races is held in August/September over two days. The world famous Puck Fair is held in Killorglin each year commencing on 10th of August, and lasts for three days.
